2025 MARCH MADNESS

Brackets are $20 each (half goes back to the Viking Backers) and do as many as you would like. Please share with anyone who enjoys a good March Madness Bracket. Reminder....you have until tip-off this Thursday March 20th to submit your picks so get to picking those winners people.

Scoring:

Round of 64 =  1 Point  + seed bonus + underdog bonus
Round of 32 =  2 Points + seed bonus + underdog bonus
Sweet 16 =  4 Points + seed bonus + underdog bonus

Elite 8 =  8 Points + seed bonus + underdog bonus
Final 4 =  16 Points
Championship =  32 Points

Example for the Seed Bonus:  The seed bonus uses the picked teams' seed value to increase the points possible for each pick. Say for example, the Round Weight is set to 2, and a player correctly picks the 12 seed to beat the 5 seed.

If the Add Seed option is selected for that round, the player will be awarded 12 + 2 = 14 points.

Example for the Underdog Bonus: The player's bracket will get the difference between the picked underdog's seed value and the favorite's seed value.

Meaning, if a player picks a 14 seed to beat a 3 seed, if the 14 seed wins the game, the player will get 14 - 3 = 11 additional points. The bigger the upset, the more points the player gets for the pick.

THE POINT DIFFERENCE IS CALCULATED USING THE ACTUAL TEAM MATCHUP, NOT THE PICKED MATCHUP!

If you pick a 13 seed to meet a 5 seed in the second round and have the 13 seed winning but the actual matchup was the 13 vs. the 12 seed, you'd only get 1 Underdog Bonus point instead of 8.

Payouts:

The Payouts for the brackets will be for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, a randomly generated place selected after all brackets are submitted and our "Bracket Busted" last place finisher will also get something!  

As stated above, please feel free to forward this email or the link to others who may want to participate.  They will just need to register at the link and then submit their picks.  And remember, they can do a quick pick bracket as well.  Lastly, if you could please put your name in the bracket and if you do multiple brackets just put Brian Slater 2, Brian Slater 3, etc.  That will just make it easier to track the brackets and payment.
